Say Nothing by Brad Parks @Brad_Parks @FaberBooks #BlogTour #Giveaway #Win

On a normal Wednesday afternoon, Judge Scott Sampson is preparing to pick up his six-year-old twins for their weekly swim. His wife Alison texts him with a change of plan: she has to take them to the doctor instead. So Scott heads home early. But when Alison arrives back later, she is alone - no Sam, no Emma - and denies any knowledge of the text . . .
The phone then rings: an anonymous voice tells them that the Judge must do exactly what he is told in an upcoming drug case and, most importantly, they must 'say nothing'.
So begins this powerful, tense breakout thriller about a close-knit young family plunged into unimaginable horror. As a twisting game of cat and mouse ensues, they know that one false move could lose them their children for ever.
Hugely suspenseful - with its fascinating insight into the US judicial system and its politics of influence and nepotism - Say Nothing is, above all, the poignant story of the terror these parents face, and their stop-at-nothing compulsion to get their children back.

Say Nothing by Brad Parks was published by Faber in the UK on 2 March 2017.

Good Luck!

I haven't read anything by this author before, but I'd certainly read more. Say Nothing is an intense, intelligent and gripping legal thriller that I enjoyed very much.

The reader is thrust into the storyline within the first couple of lines, there's no gentle easing in, no getting to know the characters. The strength of emotion displayed by lead character, Judge Scott Sampson is palpable and tears right through the reader, it's breath taking stuff.

Say Nothing combines intelligently created characters with an intriguing and at times, quite terrifying plot. Judge Scott Sampson is wonderfully painted, unlike the usual stereotypical depiction of a US Federal Judge; he's down-to-earth, caring and his family come first.

Scott often relates to an 'incident' that led him to the home and the career that he now has, and it is the effect that this had on him that ensures that the reader knows he is a decent bloke. When faced with the almost impossible dilemma of saving his children whilst probably allowing a dangerous criminal to walk free, Scott's initial instinct is to put family first.

What follows is the very realistically created story of how Scott and his wife Alison cope when their six-year-old twins Sam and Emma are kidnapped. Brad Parks has not held back in his exploration of a parent's brain, and has included some incredibly poignant moments in amongst the suspense and tension that mounts and mounts on every page.

Brad Parks has written an exceptional story, I flew through this one. A legal thriller and also a study in domestic noir, there's action a plenty and lots of moral questions to answer.  Highly recommended.

My thanks to the publisher who sent my copy for review and invited me to take part in this blog tour.
